Central Iowa Expo Announces a Major Gift from Monsanto
Boone, Iowa - A check presentation was held today at the Central Iowa Expo site as they announced a major
contribution from Monsanto. The site, located near the junction of Highway 30 and Highway 17, is best known as the bi-ennial host of the Farm Progress Show, which returns in 2012 to Boone.
Monsanto's support of $150,000 makes it possible to provide 160 acres of alfalfa to be used for equipment demonstrations during the 2012 FPS Hay Expo show in June. These same acres are used for parking in August for the Farm Progress Show. On hand for the presentation were Monsanto representatives, CI Expo board members, Secretary of Agriculture, Bill Northey, as well as other as other dignitaries.
