Events & Programs
The Boone County Chamber of Commerce conducts over forty five programs and events each year. These programs provide opportunities for networking, continuing education and support of community-focused efforts. Click on the list below for more details on each individual program or event.
The Boone County Chamber Ag Committee has organized this event for over 25 years! Held twice a year, the Ag Omelet Breakfasts are an excellent way to support the next generation of young farmers and students focusing on a career in agriculture. All proceeds go to FFA and 4-H scholarships.
Monthly networking events that brings together the Chamber membership at a host business. The host business can make this affair as intricate or simple as they wish. The Chamber supports the event by co-hosting, offering our Business Card cash drawing and marketing support leading up to the event, through our weekly Boone Brief and Monthly Chamber Express Newsletters. Whether you are new to town, want to introduce a new manager, debut a remodeling project, or simply thank the community for their patronage over the years, a Business After Hours is just the ticket! These events are open to all Chamber members and their employees.
The Thursday following Thanksgiving, the downtown streets of Boone light up with creative floats designed by local businesses and residents in a festive display of the holiday spirit. The Chamber's Annual Holiday Lighted Parade and Tree Lighting is a sight to be seen.
Four times each year the Chamber coordinates education-to-business tours as a way to show our future workforce the wide variety of careers available to them, and more importantly, that they can achieve those careers here in Boone County. Tours are conducted in the Spring and Fall, covering the areas of Family & Consumer Sciences, Industrial Trades, Agriculture and Business.
The New Teacher Breakfast is held just prior to the start of the new school year and invites all new educators to a superb breakfast to kick off the year. Teachers from Boone, Ogden, Madrid, Sacred Heart Catholic, Trinity Lutheran, United Community and Des Moines Area Community College are included.
Always held the first Tuesday in March, The Chamber's Annual Meeting is the most important networking and information packed event of the year. Get up to speed on the Chamber and enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by a chamber member caterer. Open to Chamber Members only.
Mark your calendars for a spooktacular downtown trick or treat to remember! Join the Boone County Chamber of Commerce and Stonebridge Church as they partner again for the 2019 Trick or Treat Shop with a Cop Fundraiser. Enjoy trick or treating, inflatables, games, and a few other surprises. Be sure to bring your spare change, we'll be collecting donations for the Shop with a Cop Program. October 24th from 5-7pm, 6th-9th blocks of Story St.
The health and vitality of an area is often dependent upon the generosity of its citizens’ volunteer contributions and in-kind service. The Chamber’s NEW Pay It Forward Program will mobilize our members, citizens and students to take on a worthy project to spruce up and clean up our communities, teaching the value of volunteerism, instilling pride and leaving our home a better place.
Our signature program, the Chamber's 2020 Boone Area Leadership Program will provide participants with in-depth knowledge of the resources in Boone County with behind-the-scenes access to local government facilities, business and industry, educational resources, health and human needs agencies, and agribusiness. The program will leave a lasting impression, and Commencement is always a night to remember.
