Silicon Valley comes to the Prairie
An effort led by Pillar Technologies executive Linc Kroeger has resulted in the creation of a new rural technology education adn jobs creation hub for Iowa.
The FORGE's Jefferson, Iowa location will open its doors to the public with a series of events and tours on Saturday, September 7th beginning at 4pm in the afternoon. The FORGE will act as a satellite office to its Des Moines, IA location, while providing educational opportunity for students to learn about software development and computer technology. The arrangement includes partnerships with Green County School District and Iowa Central Community College.
In addition the communities of Boone, Carroll, Jefferson and Perry have combined their resources to attract tech jobs to the area in an initiative called the Lincoln Corridor project. The evening will finish with keynotes from Iowa Govenror Kim Reynolds and several other elected officials and CEO's from across the country who have lent their support to the concept.
